Priston Mill Wedding | Maddie & Jordan’s Relaxed Somerset Celebration

There is something truly special about a wedding at Priston Mill, tucked away in the Somerset countryside just outside Bath. As a Somerset wedding photographer, I’ve photographed a few weddings here, and Maddie & Jordan’s day was a perfect example of why this venue is so loved – relaxed, full of life, and completely focused on celebrating with the people who matter most.

A Fun-Filled Morning at Priston Mill

The morning kicked off with excitement, laughter, and that lovely buzz you only get on a wedding day. Maddie and her bridal party were absolutely on point. The bridesmaids did an incredible job keeping everything calm, organised, and fun – helping out wherever needed while still soaking up every moment together.

There was a real sense of teamwork and togetherness, which set the tone for the rest of the day perfectly. First look with Dad and nan was gold, always a lush moment! Maddie & Jordan wanted to have a first look before the ceremony, they wanted that private, well not quite private as I was third Wheeling, but I never intureupted, this was their moment to take it all in!

A Beautiful Barn Ceremony

The ceremony took place inside Priston Mill’s stunning barn, which looked incredible. Overcast skies outside gave us soft, flattering light, while inside the barn felt warm, intimate, and full of emotion.

The floral styling by Flowers of Bath was spot on – elegant, natural, and perfectly suited to the rustic setting. Maddie & Jordan’s ceremony was genuinely beautiful, with plenty of smiles, a few happy tears, and so much love from family and friends.

A Relaxed Reception with Incredible Entertainment

Maddie & Jordan were clear from the start – they wanted a fun, relaxed day where everyone could just enjoy themselves. And they absolutely nailed it.

During the reception at Priston Mill, guests were treated to some seriously impressive magic from Daniel Chard. He was amazing, moving around guests and creating those brilliant “how did he do that?!” moments that get everyone talking and laughing, which makes for some lush photography

Portraits Around Priston mill Before the First Dance

Before the evening celebrations kicked off, we snuck out for a relaxed portrait session around the beautiful grounds at Priston Mill for the second Time. This is always one of my favourite moments of the day – everything has slowed down, the nerves have gone, and couples can just enjoy a few quiet minutes together.

With the overcast sky giving us soft, even light (and a little warmth still in the air), Maddie & Jordan were completely at ease. No stiff posing, no pressure – just natural moments, laughter, and time to take it all in before heading back inside for the first dance. The grounds at Priston Mill are perfect for this, offering a mix of countryside views and rustic backdrops that work brilliantly for relaxed, documentary-style portraits.

An Epic Evening & Packed Dance Floor

When the evening kicked off, the energy didn’t drop for a second. Maddie & Jordan chose an epic live band, and honestly, the dance floor was full pretty much the entire time. It was one of those nights where you can’t help but stay longer than planned because the atmosphere is just that good.

From the first dance onwards, it was non-stop dancing, hands in the air, and pure celebration – exactly the kind of evening that makes weddings at Priston Mill so special to photograph.

A Perfect Somerset Wedding Day

Maddie & Jordan’s wedding was everything a great wedding should be: relaxed, fun, beautifully styled, and packed with genuine moments. Priston Mill provided the perfect backdrop, and their choice of suppliers and entertainment made the day unforgettable for everyone there.

If you’re planning a Priston Mill wedding and want natural, documentary-style photography that captures the energy, emotion, and fun of your day as it really happens, I’d love to hear from you.
