Pennard House Wedding Photography | Tash & Neil

There is something truly special about Pennard House wedding photography in Somerset. As a Somerset wedding photographer, I’ve seen this venue shine in every season. However, Tash & Neil’s wedding on 12th July was on another level.

It was officially one of the hottest days of the summer, with temperatures soaring well beyond 30°C. Despite the heat, the day unfolded beautifully. It was intimate, family-focused, and full of emotion. Most importantly, it showed what can happen when everyone pulls together.

The morning prep couldn’t have been better planned. With the temperature rising quickly, the air-conditioned bridal prep room at Pennard House became an absolute lifesaver.

Because of this, spirits stayed high and nerves remained calm. Everything felt relaxed, even though the sun was already blazing outside. This was a smaller wedding with close family and friends, so the atmosphere felt personal and connected from the very start.

A Moment That Stopped the Day (and the Incredible Recovery)

At the very beginning of the ceremony, the heat caught up with Tash and she fainted. In a split second, Neil and Tash’s dad were there to catch her. Meanwhile, Sam legged it to my car to grab Lucozade. Guests stepped in to help, fanning her while we made sure she was safe and comfortable on the ground with her feet raised.

What happened next truly summed up Tash.

Once she regained her strength, she was absolutely determined to marry her man.

The Pennard House team reacted instantly and effortlessly, moving everyone inside so the ceremony could continue in a cooler, more comfortable space. It was a phenomenal example of calm professionalism and teamwork — and the ceremony that followed was heartfelt, emotional, and full of love.

Confetti, Shade & Keeping Everyone Cool

After the ceremony, Tash was adamant the day should continue as planned. We kept things short, sweet, and sensible — confetti in front of pennard house and group photos were done in the shade, with everyone’s comfort coming first.

Once those moments were captured, guests made their way over to the Coach House for the wedding breakfast. (thats where the aircon was) While everyone was being seated, we took the opportunity to sneak away for a few cheeky portraits, making the most of the quieter moment and avoiding the harsh midday sun.

First Dance First… Then Golden Light

Because the heat simply wasn’t letting up, Tash & Neil made a brilliant decision — they had their first dance earlier in the afternoon, inside where it was cooler and far more comfortable.

Later on, once the sun began to soften, we headed back out into Pennard House’s stunning gardens for a relaxed portrait walk. Waiting paid off. The light was gentle, the temperature had dropped slightly, and everything felt calm again — exactly how it should be.
